Insurance for Aircraft
Owners and Pilots

Enjoy your flying with fewer what-ifs
Peace of mind for your personal flying
Whether you fly a single-engine prop for weekend trips from Hilton Head or a personal jet to Chicago and New York, the right coverage matters. JCL Aviation Services builds aircraft insurance programs that reflect your experience, aircraft type, and missions. Owners and pilots count on our direct guidance at purchase, at renewal, and whenever plans change.
Core coverages for owners and pilots
Hull and liability, non-owned, and higher-limit options
Aircraft hull and liability insurance protects the airframe and your third-party exposure with limits built around aircraft type, use, and operational area. Non-owned aircraft, excess, and contingent liability insurance is valuable if you rent or charter non-owned aircraft, have a fractional ownership in an aircraft, or have purchased a jet card. We help align and coordinate appropriate primary and excess limits based on exposure, contractual & territorial requirements, and budget.
Planning for upgrades and new ratings
Training paths that help coverage and pricing
Transitioning to a faster or different type of aircraft can significantly change pilot requirements including training requirements. JCL Aviation Services helps facilitate transition plans that are reasonable. We work with aircraft owners & pilots, so new requirements are understood and met. Carriers are kept apprised as pilots receive new certifications, hit milestones, and complete required or additional training. Changes can open up new options and improve pricing.

How JCL supports private owners
Direct access, clear explanations, and steady advocacy
We respond quickly to questions and requests whether you need a certificate or want to obtain approval for a new pilot. JCL Aviation Services explains how deductibles, agreed value, and passenger sub-limits work so there are no surprises. If a claim occurs, we coordinate with adjusters to keep repairs moving while you focus on your next flight.
Questions owners and pilots ask
Straight answers for general aviation
I am buying my first aircraft. When should I contact an insurance agent?
As soon as possible. This allows us time to gather aircraft and pilot experience information needed to obtain quotes. Having coverage lined up and knowing what is expected of pilots can help prevent delays in aircraft closings and gaps in coverage.
Do I need non-owned insurance if I already own a plane?
If you rent, operate, or charter additional, non-owned aircraft, this coverage is recommended. This coverage is often provided under an owned aircraft policy, but the scope of coverage can be limited and should be reviewed carefully with your agent.
How can I keep premiums reasonable as a low-time pilot?
Structured training, mentor time, and recurrent programs help underwriters price more favorably. Over time, experience and ratings can unlock better terms.
Will international flights be covered?
Most policies define specific coverage territories, which align with the type of aircraft being operated. Policies can be endorsed to extend coverage territory. Certificates are issued based on planned destinations and areas of operation.
What happens after an incident?
We assist you with initial reports and provide you with appropriate contact information. From there we assist with information gathering, help clarify any steps throughout the process, and help ensure things are moving forward in a timely manner. Our goal is for you to receive an equitable settlement and return to normal operations as soon as possible.
